Activities at Rugged Horizon

Take advantage of Montana’s wide open spaces! While you’re here, grab a refreshment and socialize on our garden patios; play a game on the lawn or tell stories by the fire; dance under the stars; disappear at golden hour; marvel at the wildlife. Most importantly, take your time and soak it all in.

Socialize on Our Garden Patios

Host social hour on our garden patios after your wedding ceremony. It’s the perfect spot to grab a refreshment, take in the view, and mingle with friends and family.

Play Games

Entertain your wedding guests with games and some healthy competition. We have cornhole, giant jenga, giant connect four, croquet, bocce ball, horseshoes, badminton, volleyball, and a host of other options for rent. Alternatively, create your own entertainment with a mobile coffee bar, a photobooth, the shoe game, frisbee, or a glow-in-the-dark jump roping competition.

Roast Marshmallows and Warm Up by the Fire

During those cool spring and fall evenings, gather around the fire to roast marshmallows, tell stories, and reminisce. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a night of celebrating.

Dance the Night Away

Open the barn doors wide and dance under the stars, or cozy up indoors and slow dance beneath the glittering lights.

Find Alone Time, Together

Wedding days can be hectic. That’s why it’s important to step away from the crowd and to find a private moment with your spouse. Sit down in the meadow and nibble appetizers after your ceremony; skip down the lane as newlyweds; run into the field for golden hour photos; or meander through the wildflowers as a storm builds on the horizon. However you choose to spend those moments, we definitely encourage you to disappear for a little while.

Go Where the Wild Things Are

This place isn’t a buttoned-up conference room in a city hotel. It’s Montana—wild and untamed. Coyotes howl at night; the deer wander down to the meadow to watch your wedding ceremony; hawks fly overhead; the occasional bear tromps through the fields, filling its belly with apples; fluffy baby owls make their home on the barn’s balcony; turtles sun themselves in the seasonal pond; butterflies and bees flit through the gardens. That’s what makes this place special, so we hope you bring your binoculars and keep your eyes open for the magic of wild things.

How do we tell when you’ve had a great time here?

We know you’ve had a great time when your dress is dirty and covered in sticks because you’ve been running through Montana’s wide open spaces and dancing under the Big Sky. So go ahead, kick up your heels. You won’t regret it.
