Day Trip #1: Bison Range

In addition to bison herds, you might spot elk, antelope, and bears. Stop in at the visitor center to learn more about the efforts of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes and its members to preserve the bison herd and steward this land. Afterward, drive to the top of the range for sweeping views of the Mission Valley and Mission Mountains, plus the ancient ripples left behind by Glacial Lake Missoula.
