How Do We Travel to the Venue, and Where Do We Stay?

Rugged Horizon is an accessible Montana venue, while still feeling private and secluded. Guests typically fly into the Missoula airport and then drive to the property. Several companies offer private bus or shuttle options from Missoula. If you choose to stay in St. Ignatius, a hotel and vacation rentals are nearby.

Can We Choose Our Own Vendors?

You have the flexibility to choose your own wedding vendors at our venue. Vendors are familiar with traveling to the property and working together. We include day-of venue coordination services as part of our wedding packages, and carry optional, on-site rental items if you need any extras to complete your day. The best way to begin the process is to book a tour or a video call with us. We will discuss your plans and offer referrals and resources tailored to your needs.

What is the Guest Experience Like?

Most clients and guests treat the trip as a short vacation around the wedding. This is your opportunity to combine your wedding with a trip to Glacier National Park, an outing on Flathead Lake, a visit to the Bison Range, or a hike in the Mission Mountains. For helpful tips on making the most out of your Montana wedding weekend, please see our Visitor Guide.

How Long Should We Stay at the Venue?

Since we offer flexible, multi-day wedding packages, clients and guests tend to stay longer and to combine their wedding with other Montana adventures. Many couples choose to host a welcome gathering the night before the wedding so that families and friends can get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. On the wedding day itself, you and your guests can enjoy a mountain sunset, cocktail hour on the patios, yard games, dancing, and swapping stories around the fire. The morning after the wedding, bring your close family and friends back for coffee and donuts while you take your time cleaning up and checking out. You have the flexibility to turn your wedding into a shared Montana getaway, rather than a single evening event.
